All Great Minds Think Alike...
It's true what they say. All great minds do think alike...Aristotle, Plato, Shakespeare, Einstein and...Gervais!
I was just surfing YouTube (as you do), and came across the very first scene from The Office. For those who have been living under a rock since 2001, watch the video below:
Now for a few things you may not have known about Ricky Gervais and The Office (trivia!):
- Gervais' career in entertainment started out in the music industry, as one half of the pop duo, Seona Dancing.
- Gervais has written and starred in an episode of The Simpsons: Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife, which aired on March 26, 2006.
- The French version of the television series is called Le Bureau
- Gareth Keenan (Dwight in the American version) states in an early episode that his compact disc collection includes George Michael, Queen and the Pet Shop Boys and that his favorite band is Mike and the Mechanics.
- The theme song for the UK version of The Office is "Handbags and Gladrags" arranged by Big George. The song has also been sung by the Welsh band, Stereophonics.
- In one episode David Brent says he is 39 years old.
- In the episode featuring Brent's infamous dance routine, he describes his moves as "a fusion of Flashdance and MC Hammer shit."
- In episode four, entitled "Training," Gareth Keenan unintentionally reveals his greatest sexual fantasy: "two lesbians... sisters... I'm just watching."
- Brent remarks in one episode that he's "a friend first, and a boss second, probably an entertainer third."

Happy St. George's Day Milwaukee...
Probably to the surprise of most Milwaukeeans, tomorrow, April 23rd, is St. George's Day. Although not as celebrated as it's Irish counterpart (St. Patrick's Day), St. George's Day is "England's day," although several other nations also celebrate the annual holiday.
Some things you may not know about St. George's Day...
- Other nations that celebrate the annual holiday include: Portugal, Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Macedonia, and the cities of Moscow in Russia, Genova in Italy, Ljubljana in Slovenia, Beirut in Lebanon, among others.
- Georgia celebrates the holiday on a different date: Novmeber 23rd.
- Celebrated English playwright William Shakespeare died on St. George's Day in 1616.
- In Georgia St. George's Day is called Giorgoba
- Contrary to popular American belief, the flag of England is not the Union Jack. The flag of England is the St. George's Cross, while the Union Jack is the flag of the United Kingdom.
- St. George has been depicted throughout history as the saint that "slayed the dragon," although this is an urban myth.
- The United Kingdom has had six kings named George. George I reigned between 1714-1727, while George VI, the last king of the U.K., reigned from 1936-1952.
